Surrey Heath Young Actors company
SHYAC formed in 1982 to provide drama workshops and performance opportunities for young people. Our members work (and play) hard as they enjoy the fellowship and fun of weekly workshops.
Drama activity encourages social skills communication, presentation and teamwork. Our primary aim is to build the self-confidence of every member by encouraging a ‘have a go’ mentality.
Many SHYACs have gone on to train at RADA, Bristol Old Vic, Guildford School of Acting etc. Most go to university and from there join the profession as directors, designers, writers and producers.
Our “Pleasure Garden” cast has worked hard in what is for most of them a very heavy school term. Their courage and commitment is awesome and we are proud of them all.
