Windlesham and Camberley Camera Club
"When the Arts Council very kindly granted us the funds to purchase frames in which to display our photographs at the Surrey Heath Museum, we promised to provide you with some feedback on the outcome of the project which is an exhibition of new photographs based upon the theme “Surrey Heath Old & New”.
The theme, having been set by Sharon Cross, was enthusiastically accepted by our members who produced in excess of 500 images for consideration for our final selection.
With our grant we were able to purchase sixty glass fronted frames, sufficient to fill the walls of the museum, in which we displayed a broad range of images depicting varying aspects of “Old & New” within our Borough. A further thirty-one images were also included in a separate portfolio.
The official opening ceremony was graciously performed by our Mayor, Councillor Craig Fennell on Tuesday 22nd September 2009. We were also honoured by the presence of your chairman Graham Scandrett and your fellow Councillors.
It was also an opportunity for me to publicly thank your Chairman for the support provided by The Surrey Heath Arts Council.
We were very pleased with our final display, especially enhanced by the frames, which all agreed helped to create a very pleasing and professional looking exhibition."
